Elon Musk, again, took this to Twitter to respond to Putin’s comments about Artificial Intelligence and world war, stating again that Elon Musk believes that we are more likely to see a world war arise as the US, Russia, and China all compete for Artificial Intelligence superiority than from any other cause.
Moreover, North Koreas ‘low on our list concerns’ states that Tesla boss Putin’s statement- whoever leads in Artificial Intelligence would rule the world.
The expectation clearly weighs heavily on Musk’s mind, as the Tesla, SpaceX, and the Boring Company chief tweeted at late 02:33 am Los Angeles time about how AI is going to lead toward the end of this world- this too without the need of singularity. Let’s read more about how this all started with just a few tweets!
Will Artificial Intelligence be the cause of WW3?
In response to an article by the Verge that was discussing Vladimir Putin’s remarks on Artificial Intelligence, on a Monday morning, Elon Musk took it to Twitter to share his opinion.
In his opinions, Musk stated that he believes the war would be started not by a world leader, but by an Artificial Intelligence as a preemptive strike, this would also be considered as the most probable path to victory.
Not only this, Musk has also responded to many of the Twitter user’s points in the same thread of discussion that followed that focused primarily on the fraught relationship between North Korea and the U.S.
The World Rulers
Everyone is aware of the fact that till date, the US is considered as the world leader in the field of Artificial Intelligence as well as machine learning. This position is fragile, however, in comparison to the strong competition offered by the other countries and the growing weakness of the education system. This results in the decreased number of adults with some technical skills that are required to support and grow STEM industries.
A report was recently released by Goldman Sachs China as an up and coming Artificial Intelligence power, predicting that the nation will continue to grow in AI development, likely meeting its 2030 goal of becoming a global center for Artificial Intelligence innovation. By that time, Goldman predicts China’s Artificial Intelligence industries will reach a total output value of 1 trillion yuan ($147.80 billion).
However, Russia is also paying attention to high priority on AI development. Like the way China and the U.S., Russia is also exploring militarized Artificial intelligence in the variants of swarming drones and long-range missiles. Vladimir Putin commented on Friday that the country that leads in Artificial Intelligence development “will be the ruler of the world,” but added that in terms of AI dominance by any one nation, it “would be strongly undesirable if someone wins a monopolist position.”
However, this is not the first time that Musk has pointed out that AI poses a greater risk of war than North Korea that we are expecting. But here, Musk is not the only one that has in his idea that AI will cause the next world war. One of the great businessman’s “Jack Ma” who is the head of China’s Alibaba, also shares this belief – and Alibaba is one of the top Artificial Intelligence developers in China, according to the Goldman Sachs report.
